Florida Chamber rates area legislators - Jacksonville Business Journal:

Democratic Senator Tony Hill received a gradeof 63, down 37 points from his perfectg score in 2008. Scores from both Republicam Senators Jim King and Steve Wise improvedxin 2009. King scored a perfecf 100, up from last year’s B grade, and Wise inched up from an 81 last year to a grade of 82. Scores for members of the Floridas House of Representatives weregenerally lower, though Republicansa Jennifer Carroll and Lake Ray earne d perfect scores of 100. Republican Charles McBurney scored a 95 while Democrat Audrey Gibson earneda 56, down from last year’as 77. Democrat Mia Jones had the lowest scorw in the area of with a gradrof 35.
Also earning perfect scoree were Republicans Janet Adkins of Fernandina Ronald "Doc" Renuart of Pontse Vedra Beach, Bill Proctor of St. Augustine and Michaelp Weinstein ofOrange Park. Charles Van Zant of Palatkas scoreda 93. The grade earned by a legislator is calculated by dividing the tota number of times a legislator voted in support ofthe chamber’ss position by the total number of timeds a legislator cast a vote on issues outlined in the Votes after roll call and missed votes are not factorecd into a legislator’s score, while votes on certainh issues are double-weighted. Grades can also be loweres if a legislator files a bill attacking thebusineszs climate.
