George is the eightnh person to hold the position since the bank openexin 1914. She succeeds Richard Rasdall Jr., who announced in June that he would retirse after 36 years at the Since 2001, George had been executive vice presidenrt in charge of the Supervision and Risk Management Division. The position made her the top bank regulatord inthe region, responsible for supervision and regulation of 175 state-charteredx banks and nearly 1,000 bank and financial holdinbg companies. She joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansazs City in 1982 and was appointeed to the official staffin 1995.
